District Operations Manager - Rockies

Job Function / Purpose:

  • Manage Gyrodata, Inc.’s Gyroscopic (Gyro), Gyro While Drilling (GWD), Measurement While Drilling (MWD), Wireline Logging Services (WLS) and Directional Drilling (DD) business by meeting and exceeding client and industry expectations while maintaining strict compliance with Gyrodata, Inc. policies and procedures and overseeing District Managers and Sales personnel within the Area.
  • Enact the strategic direction plan while working with both Marketing and Product Line Technical support to roll-out specific campaigns successfully.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage Gyrodata, Inc.’s Gyro, GWD, MWD, Wireline and Directional Drilling business in the District
  • Maintain strict compliance with Gyrodata, Inc. policies and procedures and any U.S. or local laws applicable
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase business and profitability by meeting customer and industry expectations and identifying new growth opportunities
  • Ensure top tier service quality for existing customers and develop business strategies and innovation to capture new opportunities and maximize sales
  • Manage  administrative and operations personnel and provide training, discipline, supervision and evaluation to ensure proper performance of job duties
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential clients in the District and represent Gyrodata, Inc. in a positive and professional manner
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and developments
  • Prepare and present technical and marketing presentations for internal and client meetings as necessary
  • Develop and maintain an annual budget for the District and implement any accounting or fiscal procedures established by Gyrodata, Inc.
  • Provide Operations and management with monthly P&L reports on all aspects of business
  • Oversee preparations of invoices  and approve before sending to clients
  • Oversee and manage planning and strategy for district  operations, including coordinating jobs, attending meetings, coordinating with other Gyrodata, Inc. departments to optimize efficiency reliability
  • Collaborate with the Global Training and Development Manager to establish and maintain training and development programs for personnel, including training required by client policies , statutory requirements and industry standards
  • Oversee and enforce quality assurance policies and procedures established by Gyrodata, Inc. in accordance with the  Gyrodata Quality Management System standard
  • Oversee and enforce compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures established by Gyrodata, Inc..
  • Collaborate with the Global Human Resources Manager to maintain and enforce applicable Human Resource policies and procedures and achieve compliance with applicable local and U.S. laws
  • Travel and attend meetings as necessary to perform job duties

HSE Function:

  • Comply with applicable safety standards and maintain a safe working environment
  • Establish and maintain a culture that emphasizes compliance with all health, safety and environmental standards and respect for co-workers, clients and community
  • Oversee and enforce compliance in the Distrcit with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures established by Gyrodata, Inc. and any applicable local laws

QA Function:

  • Ensure all operations are completed to the clients expectations and requests.
  • Ensures area is equipped to support quality assurance policies and procedures as established by Gyrodata, Inc. in accordance with the ISO 9000 standard
  • Designate appropriate personnel to be assigned to all client events to relay SQ improvements and/or investigations.
  • Works with Gyrodata Service Quality leads to ensure proper SQ incident investigations are completed with resolution and assurance of no reoccurrence.
  • Comply with applicable quality assurance standards
  • Works with SQMS, GDMS and other Quality systems
  • Serves on SQMS review team

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong written, spoken and reading English communication skills
  • Ability to use a computer for accessing and sending e-mail, opening and revising documents, accessing internet and web-based Gyrodata, Inc. systems, including SharePoint and Agresso and ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Bachelor degree, or Regional Vice President approval for any High School Diploma or GED with >7 years industry experience
  • Experience, 3-5 years, managing personnel, including conducting performance reviews and discipline procedures
  • Competent in interpersonal skills, client relations and communication skills
  • 7 years minimum experience in oil and gas service sector
  • Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management or related discipline from an accredited 4 year college or university
  • Directional Drilling operations experience
  • MWD / GWD operations experience
  • Wireline knowledge / operations experience

Working Conditions:

The job is performed primarily in an office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards, although there may be exposure to elements and hazards inherent to routine travel. The job requires some physical exertion, including sitting, standing, walking, occasional light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers and telephones. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others, ability to meet deadlines, compliance with specific safety protocols and regular attendance. The job requires following and enforcing established policies procedures and meeting quality and safety standards. The job requires attention to emergency and time sensitive tasks, which may include working irregular and prolonged hours. The job requires making decisions based on experience and knowledge without supervision, as well as supervising, directing and training others. The job requires setting goals and responsibility for results.
