Job Function / Purpose

  • This position is responsible for maintaining the Fixed Assets ledger while serving as the liaison between operations, accounting, finance, and other departments within the company for all Fixed Asset related matters, including the month end close process

Essential Duties

  • Super user of Fixed Asset System responsible for PP&E, maintaining detailed fixed assets ledgers
  • Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers and sales of assets in Fixed Asset System, as well as monthly depreciation
  • Monitor new project requests to verify project type, asset class and useful life. Follow capital project life cycle from initial project request to depreciating the asset
  • PPE month end close process – prepare fix asset roll-forwards and reconciliations
  • Inventory (parts) tracking and month end reconciliations
  • Coordinate the planning and performance of physical inventory and asset counts, including preparation of the final summary and results
  • Prepare monthly cash flow for capital expenditures analysis
  • Analysis of repairs and maintenance expenses and review various other operating expense account details for potentially misclassified capex items
  • Management of property tax filings
  • Invoice intercompany tool leases
  • Team lead for upgrades and improvements to Fixed Asset System
  • Provide support for external audits. Ensure all transactions are in compliance with internal controls
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

  • Comply with applicable quality assurance standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in field of Accounting
  • 3+ years of fixed asset accounting experience
  • Core knowledge of US GAAP required
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review results, identify anomalies and take appropriate follow-up action
  • Advance skills in Microsoft Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, sumifs, macros, etc.), Word & PowerPoint
  • Team player with excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to problem solve and identify process improvement opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

  • UNIT4/CODA, Cognos BI, TM1, Spendmap, Merlin, Merge Oasis
  • Knowledge of oilfield services industry
  • Strong written and oral Spanish communication skills


Working Conditions                                                              

  • The job is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards. The job requires some physical exertion, including sitting, standing, occasional light lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The job requires operation of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, etc. The job requires following written and oral instructions, attention to detail, ability to multitask, ability to work with others and ability to meet deadlines.  The job requires following established policies and procedures, meeting quality and safety standards and regular attendance.
